Solutions Engineer

Dr. Yevgeniy Zagayevskiy joined CODE Staffing in May 2024 as a solutions engineer contractor for EOG Resources, an oil and gas company based in Houston, TX. He has extensive knowledge of 3D modeling of petroleum reservoirs, including prediction of static geological properties in space and forecast of dynamic fluid properties in space and time by utilizing geomodeling and fluid flow simulation tools. His area of expertise falls within petroleum reservoir engineering, geomodelling, geostatistics, data science, machine learning, and optimization.

Prior to joining CODE Staffing, Yevgeniy worked for Halliburton for 8 years as a researcher and later as a product manager on the on-prem and cloud-based SaaS products development for oil and gas industry, such as DecisionSpace Geosciences (DSG), Scalable Earth Modeling (SEM), and Full-Scale Asset Simulation (FSAS), catering to geologists, geomodelers, and petroleum reservoir engineers. Throughout his career, Yevgeniy has had the opportunity to work in multiple geographic locations, including the US, Canada, the UK, and Kazakhstan.

Dr. Zagayevskiy holds a PhD and MSc in mining engineering with a focus on geostatistics from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada, and a BSc with honors in petroleum engineering from Kazakh-British Technical University in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Yevgeniy has several peer-reviewed technical publications and has presented his research work at various venues. He also co-authored 8 patents related to more accurate hydrocarbon reserve estimation and improved oil and gas recovery. He has been a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) since 2010.
