Solutions Engineer (Houston, TX)

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Solutions Engineer to join our team and work with one of our Fortune 200 oil and gas clients located in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will have a mechanical engineering background with proven expertise in pipeline compression, engines, and related areas.
As a Solutions Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing technical solutions that meet the specific needs of our clients’ oil and gas customers. You will work closely with the Development, Marketing, and Accounting Teams to ensure that software specifications are accurately implemented.
This position requires the candidate to be on-site at our client's office in Houston, TX. Additionally, the role entails frequent travel, sometimes weekly, and the candidate must be willing to be on the road for extended periods.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare specifications for new applications, enhancements, modifications, and support issues.
- Develop technical documentation and provide support to clients during implementation.
- Gathering requirements for new projects and enhancements for existing products working with the design to model and develop business processes.
- Data analysis & Customer Support: Analyzing day-to-day production issues and identifying short term/long term solutions.
- Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Tracking and appropriately escalating production issues; Understanding business and providing solutions and support
- Testing and supporting the deployment of applications
- Supporting application releases and change management functions and providing feedback to product teams to improve product offerings.
- Collaborate with sales teams to identify opportunities and develop proposals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in pipeline compression, engines, and related areas.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to gather and document business requirements and develop system specification documents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python is a plus.
- Knowledge of oil and gas industry is a plus.
- Ideal candidate will be based in the clients' office in Downtown Houston.
